Dog Boarding That Feels Like a Retreat

Private rooms, climate-controlled comfort, four or more daily playtimes, and care shaped around your dog’s personality.

What to Expect

A Stay Built Around Your Dog

Leaving town shouldn’t mean worrying about whether your dog is receiving enough attention, activity, or rest. At Paw Retreat, boarding is designed to provide all three.

Every dog has a private, climate-controlled room and receives a minimum of four playtimes per day. Activity is selected according to the dog’s personality. Social guests may enjoy appropriately matched group play, while dogs who prefer people, solitude, or a quieter routine can receive private playtime at no additional charge.

Five Options

Salado Boarding Room Options

Rooms differ in size, privacy, and how a dog gets outside. Tell us about your dog and we will recommend the right fit.

  • The Cottage

A private, climate-controlled room with a dog door leading to a covered patio, securely fenced from floor to ceiling. This more secluded option can be an excellent fit for nervous dogs, jumpers, dogs that react at fences, or pets that simply settle better with more privacy.

  • Deluxe Suites

Our largest accommodation: a private climate-controlled room with a dog door leading to a private yard. The extra room suits large dogs and pet families staying together, and the yard gives guests space to enjoy fresh air and sunshine between scheduled activities.

  • Suite

A private indoor room with access to its own shaded yard of roughly 50 square feet. It offers many of the benefits of the Deluxe Suite on a smaller scale, and is a popular fit for smaller dogs, senior guests, and pets that appreciate convenient indoor-outdoor access.

  • Standard

Our larger indoor-only accommodation. These rooms feature tempered glass and white panel dividers that let natural light into the space. Standard-room guests are taken outside multiple times each day for play and bathroom breaks, and eligible dogs can join group play at no additional charge.

  • Regular

A smaller indoor-only, private tiled room. Windowed doors let dogs observe the environment while remaining in their own space. Guests are taken outside multiple times each day, and some small dogs may spend part of the day in the daycare room when appropriate.

Not a Generic Schedule

Playtime With a Purpose

Play isn’t assigned according to a generic schedule alone. Our team considers your dog’s energy, social style, age, comfort, and behavior.

For dogs who enjoy company, group play can provide healthy exercise and social interaction. Groups are approached thoughtfully rather than placing every social dog together. Dogs who prefer their own space still receive meaningful activity and individual attention through complimentary private playtime.

What to Pack

Food, Medication, and Familiar Routines

Food

We prefer that boarding pets bring their usual food. Familiar meals can help avoid digestive changes during a stay. Please label food and provide clear feeding instructions.

If a pet’s food is forgotten or runs out, we can provide NutriSource Chicken & Rice for a per-meal charge.

Medication

Trained team members can administer many routine medications for $1 per administration. Medication should remain in its original container and include complete instructions.

Contact us before booking if your dog needs complex medical support.

Safety and Communication

Our team is onsite from approximately 6:45 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The facility has 24-hour video surveillance and an alarm system outside staffed hours.

Every boarding client should receive at least one photo during the stay, and pet parents are welcome to contact us for additional updates.

In a medical emergency

We contact the pet parent immediately. If the parent and emergency contact cannot be reached, Paw Retreat may transport the dog to a veterinarian selected by our team.

Before You Book
