Cat Boarding · Salado, TX

A Cattery Designed for Curious, Comfortable Cats

Private floor-to-ceiling condos, climbing features, enrichment, and room to settle in at their own pace.

Not an Afterthought

A Real Retreat for Feline Guests

Cats experience boarding differently from dogs. They often need time, vertical space, quiet observation, and the freedom to choose when to explore.

Paw Retreat’s Salado cattery was created with those needs in mind. Rather than treating cats as an add-on to dog boarding, we give them a dedicated environment with private accommodations and enrichment opportunities of their own.

Enrichment

A Play Paradise for Explorers

For cats who are comfortable venturing beyond their condo, the cattery offers features that make the environment more engaging. Depending on the cat and current care plan, these may include:

  • Hanging cat swings
  • Trees and vertical climbing spaces
  • A catwalk
  • A drawbridge
  • Multiple places to perch and observe

Our goal is not to force interaction. It is to provide safe choices that let each cat explore, rest, and engage at an appropriate pace.

Settling In

A Routine That Feels Familiar

We prefer cat parents to bring their pet’s usual food, along with clear feeding instructions. Familiar meals can help reduce unnecessary dietary changes during boarding.

Please tell us about your cat’s normal routine, hiding preferences, handling tolerance, medication needs, and any behavior that may indicate stress. Small details can make a meaningful difference in helping a cat settle in.

Vaccination and Health Requirements

Vaccinations

Cats must be current on Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations before boarding. Submit records before the scheduled stay so our team can review them.

Our trained staff can administer many routine medications for $1 per administration.

Contact us before booking to discuss the medication and determine whether we can safely meet your cat’s needs.

Staying in Touch

Updates and Emergency Care

Updates during the stay

Every boarding client should receive at least one photo during the stay. Pet parents are welcome to contact us at any time for an additional update.

In a medical emergency

We contact the pet parent immediately. If we cannot reach the parent or emergency contact, Paw Retreat reserves the right to transport the cat to a veterinarian selected by our team so treatment is not delayed.
